The MICHELIN Guide Kuala Lumpur and Penang 2024 has arrived, amassing a total of 127 restaurants, with 66 based in Kuala Lumpur and 61 based in Penang! Here's the complete list of the second edition of the MICHELIN Guide Kuala Lumpur and Penang, including the first and only two MICHELIN Stars restaurant in Malaysia, newly awarded one MICHELIN Star restaurant, Bib Gourmand and MICHELIN Selected establishments.
Malaysia's very first two MICHELIN Starred restaurant
Dewakan has won the highly-esteemed award of two MICHELIN Stars that indicate the restaurant offers excellent cooking that is worth a detour to visit while travelling. It is a huge achievement and no easy feat to be promoted to two MICHELIN Stars from one MICHELIN Star last year. Chef Darren Teoh's personality and talent shines through each meticulously crafted dish and conveys inspiration.

4 One MICHELIN Starred Restaurants
A new one MICHELIN Star restaurant has been born added this year, Beta KL, alongside DC. Restaurant by Darren Chin, Auntie Gaik Lean's Old School Eatery and Restaurant au Jardin which retain one MICHELIN Star from the MICHELIN Guide Kuala Lumpur and Penang 2023.

45 Establishments awarded Bib Gourmand distinction
On the 8th of November, the MICHELIN Guide unveilled firstly a cluster of pocket-friendly culinary gems. The Bib Gourmand selection features restaurants that meet three important criterias: quality food, meticulous preparation and affordable prices. It became a crowd-favourite award for being the most ‘down-to-earth’ and approachable to most income groups. This award is a testament that good food doesn’t necessarily come with a hefty price tag.
Introducing 14 newly added establishments (N), with 5 in Kuala Lumpur, and 9 in Penang, bringing the total to 45 restaurants and establishments recognized with the Bib Gourmand award in the second edition. There are 20 based in Kuala Lumpur and 25 in Penang, featuring a diverse range of cuisines.

Introducing 25 newly added establishments (N), with 16 in Kuala Lumpur, and 9 in Penang, bringing the total to 77 restaurants and establishments recognized as a MICHELIN Selected restaurant. There are 43 based in Kuala Lumpur and 34 in Penang, identified by the MICHELIN inspectors as noteworthy dining destinations that offer quality cuisine, ambience, and service.
