Located in Setia Alam, this tufting workshop offers a variety of items that you can tuft such as floor rugs, wall decors, and mirrors. For beginners, you can sign up for the ‘Let’s Try Out’ package for only RM199 where you will tuft on a 45cm x 45cm frame size. With this package, you will be able to choose from 40 colours of acrylic yarn and get detailed guidance on how to handle the tufting gun.

2. Create Beautiful Latte Art at 103 Coffee

Calling to all coffee lovers! Apart from serving great coffee, this Sri Petaling based 103 Coffee is also home to World Latte Art Champion. Here, you can find well-structured workshops for coffee brewing and latte art. If you’ve ever wanted to try pouring fantastic latte art, this is definitely the place to head to.

3. Try Out Pottery at A Touch Of Clay

A Touch of Clay has existed since 2000 and is being operated by an experienced local ceramic artist. There are two types of classes available which are one-off classes and syllabus-based classes which the latter is more suitable for those that want to commit to pottery.

If you are only looking for a trying-out session, the one-off classes are the one for you. There are two types of one-off classes; throwing clay on the well and hand-building pottery. In these classes, you will be introduced to the basics of pottery, types of clay, how to make cylinder cups, and centering clay on the pottery wheel. These classes are perfect for a creative day out with friends or family.

4. Paint A Portrait of Your Pets at Tapir Place

Yes, you read that right! At Tapir Place, you can bring your pets and paint a portrait of them. You can go for acrylic painting or watercolour painting. 5. Dive Into Tradition With Wayang Kulit Making at GMBB

Here is something unique for you to try; wayang kulit puppet making at GMBB! In case you don’t know, wayang kulit is a traditional form of puppet show mostly popular in states such as Kelantan and Terengganu.

This workshop aims to revive the beautiful art of wayang kulit by fusing traditional pop culture and sci-fi elements. With that said, you can learn how to make Star Wars and comic characters wayang kulit puppets! How cool is that? Not to mention that the official Star Wars channel has recognized the team that handles this workshop. If you feel like making the traditional character of wayang kulit, they have that option too!

6. Experience Glow-In-The-Dark Painting with Splatter Art Factory

Get ready to let loose with this hidden gem in Subang Jaya. Splatter Art Factory encourages you to be messy and let your creativity flow while painting using tools such as toy water guns and pop-paint balloons.

This place is famous for its pop-paint balloons workshop where you pop balloons filled with paint using darts onto a blank canvas. Just like a scene in The Princess Diaries, this activity is reminiscent of that and it will create beautiful splatter effects onto the canvas. 7. Have Fun with Tufting at Tuftme! 

If you are from the KL area, this tufting studio could be the one for you. They have several outlets opened and they are located in Puchong, Hartamas, and Uptown Damansara. Explore the vibrant colours of cotton yarn available for tufting and have a fun and therapeutic experience with Tuftme.

What makes this place unique is that apart from the usual tufting workshop, they have a sip and tuft session on Thursday nights. With the sip and tuft package, you will be tufting on a trial-size tufting frame (40cm x 60cm) and a glass of red wine. 8. Have Fun with Batik Painting at Te’ja Studio

If you think batik painting is boring, think again! Te’ja Studio, located in MATIC (Malaysian Tourism Centre), offers both batik painting and batik canting experience.

Here’s some background information; Batik is a wax-resistant dyeing technique applied to a whole cloth. Batik canting is a pen-like tool that is used to apply liquid hot wax in the batik-making process. So now, you can use your creativity and have your own uniquely designed batik piece! Apart from painting on the normal batik cloth, you can also do batik canting on a tote bag and bring them home afterwards.
